What smartphones have Snapdragon 855 processor

Snapdragon - The current processors at a glance

Snapdragon 855 Plus

This is the plus version of the normal Snapdragon 855. This is clocked higher than its predecessor and therefore has a higher speed. The prime core clocks here with up to 2.96 GHz compared to the maximum 2.84 GHz in the Snapdragon 855. The three other performance cores also have a clock frequency of up to 2.42 GHz. The other four cores clock with a maximum of 1.8 GHz and are responsible for saving energy. Like the Snapdragon 855, the Plus version also has an integrated LTE modem and can be combined with the external X50-5G modem.

Snapdragon 855

The Snapdragon 855 is also a high-end SoC. It was presented at the end of 2018 and, like its successor, the Snapdragon 865, has a fast prime core that clocks at up to 2.84 GHz, three other fast performance cores with a clock rate of up to 2.42 GHz and four power-saving cores with a maximum clock frequency of 1.8 GHz. The chip is manufactured in the improved 7nm process, which promises higher performance and lower power consumption. Inside there is an integrated LTE modem, but the Snapdragon 855 can also be combined with the new external X50-5G modem.

Snapdragon 765 / 765G

The Snapdragon 765 was introduced together with the Snapdragon 865 at the end of 2019 and is located in the upper mid-range segment. It is, so to speak, the slimmed-down version of the high-end Snapdragon 865 SoC. Most of the specifications of the two chips are the same. However, the Snapdragon 765G has a slightly higher CPU speed and a better graphics card and is therefore specially designed for gaming performance. Both the Snapdragon 765 and its gaming equivalent are manufactured at Samsung using the modern 7nm EUV process. They have a prime core that clocks at up to 2.4 GHz, a gold core with a clock rate of up to 2.2 GHz, six additional cores with a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz and an integrated 5G modem. The Snapdragon 765G has also been expanded to include selected Snapdragon Elite gaming features such as the Game Smoother, the Game Fast Loader or the Game Network Latency Manager.

Snapdragon 730 / 730G

The Snapdragon 730 is also found primarily in smartphones from the upper mid-range segment. The eight cores are divided into two clusters here. There are two fast cores in the performance cluster that clock at up to 2.2 GHz. The energy-saving cluster contains six smaller cores with a maximum clock rate of 1.8 GHz. The Snapdragon 730 also has an integrated LTE modem and is manufactured at Samsung using the modern 8nm process. The Snapdragon 730G has the same structure, the G at the end also describes the specialization in gaming performance. Some WiFi features have been adapted and the graphics card accelerated. The Snapdragon 730G also supports higher-resolution displays and has additional security features.
