Unfortunately ... that was the reason I wanted a PC as a kid. Oh yes, and so I could do something for school, papa! : D

But since Westwood was bought it has gone steadily downhill ...: /

    Yeah

I don't know what to think of it either. C&C was once upon a time and you will never fail to make it as fun as the first parts.

I keep the old one in memory and still gamble it from time to time. The new parts can stay stolen from me. They just broke it.

Generals was still OK. Was also published by Westwood but by EA.
    After that: a shame.

    Really sad.

EA likes to burn good names until they are just gray pulp. And then one wonders why nobody wants it when version 5000 of the same game (with new, even better graphics) is "shit" on the market without innovations.

tiberium conflict, red alert, red alert 2 were great, Tiberian Sun was just middle class. Generals was just not a command for me and Conquer although it was good too. Everything that came after that was just bad.

Opinions can be so different. Back then I was enthusiastic about the first Command & Conquer in 1995 (at the age of 15) and I was looking forward to the release for months and tried to bridge the time with Dune 2 more than once (you remember the trailer "Beethoven - An die Freude" ).

This was followed by an addon (also great), and later "Red Alert" (I found it less good). With Command & Conquer II it went slowly from there (laudable "Fun" exception: Red Alert II) to "Tiberium Wars", which I really enjoyed playing.

You don't necessarily have to talk about the rest. "Generals" was good, but not a real C&C.

As a matter of fact. The style and feel of the Tiberium conflict and Red Alert (1) are simply unmatched. With the games, even the DOS installation routine was a work of art. At the moment I'm playing C & C1: The state of emergency, i.e. the mission CD for part 1, which I unfortunately missed in 1995. Works fine in the dosbox under Linux. Let's see what the hidden dinosaur missions are all about * g *

    Yes, it's a shame ...
I now only gamble on the PS3 and think it's a shame that there is only Red Alert 2 there. Nobody wants that.
Why can't you emulate anything or play old games?

What made a lot about C & C1 was that it was a near future scenario. In addition, the realism of the thematic media control, and that 10 years before this problem became topical in reality. It was also awesome that the two sides had completely different units and the game still had balance. That always bothered me about the Warcraft series, for example, that the two sides were completely the same, the units were simply renamed and had different graphics. With Warcraft it just always came down to which unit fired the first shot to hit the same opponent, which I found pretty boring.

It's a shame that the series has been degraded under EA.

you can tell that you unfortunately have no idea about wc3: /

And you just started with WC3, huh? I'm obviously talking about Warcraft 1 and 2.

there has to be a MARV part or a Mammoth Mark II part or something like that ... so a real blockbuster!
Or maybe just give marketing a permanent touch, like at c & c3 back then

Generals was awesome! Unfortunately, too many bugs appeared over time and the game became unplayable. Bug fixes didn't come until what felt like half a century later.

In my opinion, Generals was pretty easy and it was still the forerunner to the side effects of c & c 3

previously in red alert etc. there was at most a special function at tanya with bombing or so n stuff but no rechargeable / once generating effects that you can earn with the help of the tech tree and use accordingly to a victory ...

in general this was a bit easy and therefore almost annoying ... in kane's revenge, for example, the whole thing was implemented very well

also i started with dune and then c & c1 etc. and i went through the series until today ... only alarm level red 2 i never played that dusty on the shelf because i found it a bit ridiculous

think there should be a part that fills the gap between the years between usa vs russia and gdi vs nod ... you can imagine that and tell with rebel fighting and stuff like that and then the technology will be over generations of commanders just getting better ... until you get to the laser trinkets ... well but you can mess that up - then you'd better continue a little gdi vs nod in an online universe but please not in the style of "spore"

Jo to C&C 4 or Generals it was a great game (Red Alert 2 I played through about 5-6 times ^^ Genrals and zero hour at least 1 time with each faction). Anything after that wasn't worth the DVD they were pressed onto. Hopefully there will be some fresh wind again. I would like a Red Alert 4, but without this shit co. General affair -.- The idea wasn't really bad, but either he was stupid as a straw, or he always hit the enemy on his own. EA is unfortunately known for exploiting good series in such a way that they just suck (EA Sports, NFS, Bf, and now also C&C)

Red alert 3 was actually quite nice. One noticed here and there that there was a lack of development time. But unfortunately that's very typical at EA. That goes through all C&C parts since Generals.
For me, however, RA3 was the closest thing to what Westwoods C&C had been like.

ups, I set my alarm level red 3

Part 2 is gathering dust including the add-on on the shelf too, but at least I played that for a few more hours ...
part 3 not even 2 hours
part 4 should come out of this series it will not be bought ... even as a fan of c & c i prefer to buy parts of the series that i also like (from now on definitely)

because of me you don't need a new game.

I found the old games perfect as they were. It's the same with AOE 1 + 2.

Unfortunately these days they hardly work anymore and you get eye cancer.

It's best to take these games and make modern graphics + modern multiplayer + modern AI and I would buy everything;) (why aren't there such fan projects?)

All these innovations made the games worse and worse.

Small things could still be improved:
    - more than one unit in the building loop (only started from Tiberian Sun)
    - Units gain experience (also only started from Tiberian Sun)
    - Better scripted campaign (not just flattening opponents)

P.S .: I would also be happy about a new Renegade, as I really like the C&C universe.

Command & Conquer was what the name promised until Generals.
Then came Generals which was totally different but imho the best C&C is in terms of fun / graphics. Doesn't want to click every time to produce a unit;) Generals still play games with friends sometimes today and we always have a lot of fun IF not sometimes these totally inexplicable errors such as "unsynchronized data" ... etc.
Still Generals, then AR2 and then Tiberian Sun followed closely by AR1 and the rest;)

renegade 2 will surely come at some point even if the project is currently canceled.

tiberian sun was pretty good and still the bad guy of the video game prices because when it was new you could pay 99Mark for the normal version which was an absurdity back then and way too high but today everyone thinks it would be normal that it had to cost so much.
What was good back then, these stripes that show you which way the unit would like to run to the selected destination ... because sometimes the ki ways were pretty nonsense or you didn't necessarily want to cross a bridge over it but pass it and it was good that you did it has seen so.
technology tree was very good back then and a lot better than in the first two c & c parts. at that time it also started with the tv cutscenes as sequences that was already impressive back then

I just don't understand what you mean by a better scripted campaign? the campaign is only intended to enable you to learn to control the units as a full noob, or am I getting something wrong?
and if you don't flatten your opponent what should you do then? Negotiating peace treaties with a stormtrooper?
in tiberium wars there were also parts of the campaign that were story-based or you only controlled individual units instead of building the basis and wiping them all out
was also in the alert level share like that and well what alternatives should be added to the campaign maybe you can explain ...
I would also like to see the bonus things like oil drilling towers and guns and guns that can be taken by everyone and the use of civilian buildings and vehicles
