Why was George Carlin an atheist

(hpd) George Carlin was one of the most famous American stand-up comedians. He died in Santa Monica in 2008. He was notorious as a taboo breaker. In addition to language and politics, his main subjects were religion. He has received several awards for his programs, including several Grammy awards.

The following video with the English title "Religion is Bullshit" (religion is bullshit) is an absolute classic in the English-speaking atheist scene. It has been viewed more than nine million times on Youtube! In it, Carlin goes into the Christian history of salvation and exposes its obvious absurdity. You can hardly do it better or funnier than him.

In the following video, Carlin discusses the Ten Commandments. He shows how one can easily reduce the ten commandments to two: “You should be honest and faithful” and the fifth commandment “You should not kill”. Religion itself never had any major problems with the ban on killing, because more people were killed in the name of God than for any other reason. Therefore he formulates the fifth commandment in: "You should make an effort not to kill anyone, except one prays to an invisible man other than yourself".

One of his last videos deals with death and funerals. In it he makes fun of the usual idioms and religious ideas associated with it.
