As in previous years, we are also organizing our annual energy forum in this pandemic or turning point. In addition to the numerous speakers with proven Africa experience, Norbert Taphorn from TESVOLT GmbH also speaks. The well-known storage plant manufacturer installed the largest storage plant in Africa in Rwanda in 2017. Modern storage plants are currently being installed in Nigeria, Ghana and other African countries. The Forum 2020 will be chaired by the Tanzanian Ambassador, Dr. Abdallah Saleh Possi opens. In the same note, he will report on why Corona spared his country.

    "New investment funds for the future market of superlatives"

    Under this year's topic, as in previous years, we are presenting numerous interesting contributions from representatives of well-known companies in the energy sector and the new promotion instruments of the AfricaConnect, which the Federal Minister Dr. Gerd M & uumlller for economic cooperation and development on June 4th, 2019 in the AXICA Congress and Conference Center, Pariser Platz in Berlin.

    One of the two main speakers this year is the managing director of the renewable energy association in Tanzania, Tanzania Renewable Energy Association - TAREA, Dr. Matthew Matimbwi. He not only attracts more than 500 members of the association in his home country, he is also responsible for the unification of the standards and norms of the RE industry in the entire East African region. As an investigative body for the Ministry of Energy, the association is responsible for spying out technically defective and over-defined solar modules and storage systems. Through his knowledge of the matter, he identified a number of dubious companies and brought down those responsible. He constantly travels to the countries of the East African Economic Community, including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia, and is not a rare guest in Germany. He will share his many years of experience in the renewable energy sector with the attendees in impeccable German. He is available to those interested with advice and action the day after the forum. Ministerialdirigent Ulrich Beyer, Head of Department Federal and International Relations, Europe, Media of the Saxon State Chancellery will report on the increased role of the state government's development cooperation. The federal state has decided to get more involved in development policy and is looking for a partner region in Africa. AfricaConnect - the experienced speaker, Verick Schick from the agency for business and development in Berlin, will talk about the chances of opening up the continent. The very charming Ms. Bienvenue Angui, managing director of the Mittelstandsallianz Afrika, BVMW is a connoisseur of Francophone Africa, she will report on her trip and the encounter between the Senegalese president and German companies. Furthermore, she will report on some of the twelve African countries in which the new investment funds for the future market of Africa are taking effect. Inevitably, growth in Africa goes ahead. Thomas Rolf GIZ speaks at the interface between companies and development policy - economic and social development as well as digitization. Last but not least, the equally charming entrepreneur from Tajikistan, Ms. Gulanor Odilbekova, speaks to the energy professional, Dr. Diebels about the 9 MW hydropower plant Pamir Energy. The women from Africa, Asia and Boston, USA make a joint appeal to medium-sized businesses in Germany to give up-and-coming women a helping hand so that global social development is even better.

  • The energy workshop took place on Tuesday, November 16, under the patronage of Thomas Jurk, MdL (former Saxon Minister of Labor and Economics). With the presence of well-known representatives from politics and business, such as Dr. Francis Nazario, Head of Mission, Government of South Sudan Brussels or the 1st Secretary of the Tanzanian Embassy Berlin, Caeser Chacha Waitara, discussed interesting topics and laid the foundations for further cooperation.
