4 For your safety Signal terms You will find the following signal terms in these instructions: WARNING This signal term indicates a hazard with a medium level of risk which, if not avoided, can result in death or serious injury. CAUTION This signal term indicates a hazard with a low level of risk which, if not avoided, can result in minor or moderate injury. NOTE This signal aspect warns of possible damage. Safety instructions WARNING Faulty electrical installation or too high a mains voltage can lead to electric shock. The device is suitable for a mains voltage of 230 V ~ / 50 Hz. Make sure the correct voltage is applied when connecting. You can find more information on this on the nameplate. Check the device regularly for damage. Immediately pull out the power plug and do not operate the device if its housing or power cable is defective or shows other visible damage. If the power cord of the device is damaged, only have it replaced by the manufacturer, his customer service or a similarly qualified person. This device is disconnected from the mains by pulling the mains plug. Therefore, make sure that the power plug is easily accessible at all times. If the device emits smoke, smells like something is burnt, or makes strange noises, immediately disconnect it from the mains and do not use it any more. Never open the housing of the device. The device may only be repaired by an authorized specialist company. Only parts that correspond to the original device data may be used. Use only the accessory products specified by the manufacturer. Only use the device indoors. Do not operate the device in damp rooms and protect it from dripping and splashing water. Also make sure that no vases or other vessels filled with liquid are placed on or near the device, so that no liquid can get into the housing. If water or other foreign bodies have penetrated, pull out the power plug immediately and remove any batteries. Then send the device to our service address. Never touch the power plug with wet hands. Children can get caught in the packaging film while playing and suffocate. Do not let children play with the device and the packaging film. There is a risk of suffocation. Make sure that children do not remove any small parts from the device or pull them off the device (e.g. control buttons or plug adapters). You could swallow the parts and choke on them. Never let children use electrical devices unsupervised. If the battery belonging to the article is swallowed, this can lead to serious internal injuries and even death. Keep both new and used coin cell batteries out of the reach and sight of children. If the battery compartment can no longer be closed securely, stop using the item and keep it out of the reach of children. If you suspect a coin cell battery has been swallowed or otherwise incorporated, seek medical attention immediately. Leaking battery acid can cause burns. Avoid contact of battery acid with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse 4 Cinebar 52 THX

5 If you come into contact with the acid, wash the affected areas immediately with plenty of clean water and, if necessary, consult a doctor. Batteries (especially lithium batteries) can explode if improperly handled. Never try to charge batteries. Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type. Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be heated up, short-circuited or disposed of by burning. Do not expose batteries and rechargeable batteries to direct sunlight. Continuous listening at high volume can damage your hearing. Prevent damage to health and avoid listening at high volume levels for long periods of time. Always keep a certain distance from the device when the volume is high and never keep your ears close to the loudspeaker. If a loudspeaker is set to full volume, the sound pressure level can be very high. In addition to organic damage, this can also have psychological consequences. Children and pets are particularly at risk. Set the volume control on your signal source device to a low level before switching it on. CAUTION An unstable surface can cause a loudspeaker to tip over, seriously injuring or even killing children in particular. You can avoid many accidents if you take the following precautions: Only place the subwoofer on the floor. If you want to use stands or feet, only use those recommended by the manufacturer. When storing the speakers, make sure that they stand securely and that they cannot be knocked down or knocked over. An inadequate installation location can cause damage. Do not use the loudspeakers unsecured in vehicles, in unstable locations, on wobbly tripods or furniture, on undersized brackets, etc. The loudspeakers could tip over or fall down and cause personal injury or be damaged themselves. Set up the loudspeakers so that they cannot be accidentally knocked over and the cables do not pose a trip hazard. Carefully follow the instruction manual. Make sure that any wall mounting is carried out professionally. If you are wall mounting, make sure that the walls are capable of bearing the load. When wall mounting, proceed carefully and adhere to the following instructions: Make sure that there are no cables or pipes in the drilling areas. Check the areas with a metal detector before drilling. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock / short circuit! NOTE External influences can damage or destroy the device. If the device is left unattended for a long time (e.g. while on vacation) or if there is a risk of a thunderstorm, pull the power plug out of the socket. Otherwise sudden overvoltages can lead to defects. Remove the battery (ies) from the remote control if you will be absent for a longer period of time. Leaking batteries can damage the remote control. When the device moves from the cold into the warm e.g. condensation can form inside after transport. In such a case, let the device stand for at least 2 hours before connecting and using it. Improper handling of the device can result in damage or fire. Do not place any open fire sources such as burning candles or the like on the device. Provide adequate ventilation. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight. Cinebar 52 THX 5

11 Installation / wall mounting Installation location Cinebar 52 THX The ideal location is the space under the TV set. NOTE Be careful when wall mounting and follow the instructions below. The Cinebar 52 THX may only be mounted on the wall by qualified persons. It may only be installed on a suitable, solid wall. Special dowels or anchors may be required for lightweight walls. Consult a professional. Either hang the Cinebar 52 THX directly on the wall or place it under the TV using the stand b. Subwoofer CB 52 SW You should also place the subwoofer on the floor as close as possible to the television. But you can also set it up at another place in the room, as the low tones cannot be located by the human ear. However, do not position it in a corner of the room, as this can lead to uncontrollable frequency increases. Notes on the installation site Select a stable, level surface. For wall mounting, please note the following chapter. Provide a dry, dust-free environment. Avoid the proximity of heat sources and direct sunlight. Lay the connection cables so that they do not pose any tripping hazards. Do not place heavy objects on the cables or devices. Wall mounting For wall mounting on a solid stone wall, you need the following material: 2 x dowels (ø 8 mm) 2 x screws, 5 x 50 mm (screw head = ø approx. 10 mm) CAUTION Make sure that there are no cables or pipes in the drilling areas. Check the areas with a metal detector before drilling. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock / short circuit! 1. Transfer the hole spacing between the two wall mounting profiles of 54.75 cm to the wall on which you want to attach the Cinebar 52 THX. Use a folding rule, pencil and spirit level to do this. 2. Check the drilling areas with a metal detector. If necessary, choose a different location for the assembly. 3. Using an 8 mm masonry drill, drill a hole approx. 45 mm deep at each of the marked positions. 4. Insert 2 dowels (ø 8 mm) completely into the drill holes. 5. Screw one screw (5 x 50 mm) into each of the dowels until the distance between the wall and screw head is approx. 4 mm. Press the Cinebar 52 THX against the wall so that the screws are in the keyhole openings (6) disappear. Now pull the Cinebar 52 THX down so that the screws slide into the narrow slot. 7thIf necessary, turn the screws further in or out until the Cinebar 52 THX is firmly attached to the wall. Just pull that strip out. Changing the battery If the remote control no longer works properly, or after 2 years at the latest, the battery should be replaced. Battery type: Lithium battery CR To change the battery, pull the battery compartment cover off the remote control and replace the batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity! WARNING If the battery belonging to the article is swallowed, this can lead to serious internal injuries and even death. Keep both new and used coin cell batteries out of the reach and sight of children.
